New Buddha reincarnate? or more web-trash?
Hundreds of people scoured a jungle in southern Nepal on Sunday for a missing teenager who many believe is the reincarnation of Buddha. Ram Bahadur Banjan, 15, disappeared Saturday from a forest where he had meditated for the last 10 months, during which his associates said he consumed no food or water. Local official Santaraj Subedi said police, followers and family members were looking for the boy in the jungles of Bara, about 160 kilometers (100 miles) south of the capital, Kathmandu. Police official Gautam Raj Kattel said some people said they saw Banjan walking southwards before dawn on Saturday. His clothes were found near where he had been meditating. Banjan had been sitting cross-legged and motionless with his eyes closed in a niche among the roots of a tree in the jungle since May 17, 2005. This is out dated news. The boy re-appeared a few days ago to volunteer an explanation to those he knows about why he left. He said all the noise from all the visiting people and traffic disturbed his peace. So he's found a new, more private place to meditate for the balance of his six year committment. Then he'll return again. He asked people not to worry or follow him.
as of Sunday, he wasn't found yet, so if you know this for a fact, thanks for the update, but please provide the link to the article you recieved your info at... meanwhile, I of course, remain skeptical... however, I do believe we are long overdue for a savior, and if he can bring the world some peace, then that would be amazing... so I hope he is OK.
actually I found the BBC article, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4824530.stm from when he was found and his statements... also I added a new post about it too.
